IES Foundation Year的所在地Spring Hill是一個充滿文化底蘊的古老城區，環境安全，附近被不同殖民地時代的古蹟包圍，同時間可探索周遭的精品咖啡店與Brisbane首屈一指的食店。Spring Hill交通便利，距離Brisbane市中心只是7分鐘車程，要由IES College到UQ也只需20分鐘。
自IES Foundation Year於1998年創辦至今，已有超過10,000名學生成功升讀到UQ的不同學士課程，如Business Management、Economics、Journalism、Engineering、 Pharmacy、Biotechnology等等；每年平均有高達90%的學生順利成讀UQ學士課程，課程質素之高，令IES多次獲昆士蘭省政府頒發”Best Pathway Program (最佳銜接課程)”及”Outstanding International Student Support (傑出國際學生支援服務)”等獎項。
IES Foundation Year現時主要提供3項課程，分別為Express Program、Standard Program以及Extended Program；針對學術與英文程度不同的學生入讀。如學生英文未達要求，IES亦有開辦English Pathway，學生在完成English Pathway後可升讀上述3個Foundation Year課程。
